Ulysse Nardin El Toro GMT Perpetual Calendar (326-03-3)
Ulysse Nardin is a manufacturer of luxury Swiss watches renowned for their reliability and chronometric functions. Created in 1846, the brand has produced marine chronometers for over 50 countries' navy forces. The sophisticated timepieces are precious items for every sophisticated collector. It presents minor knicks on the bezel and case.
Presenting the Ulysse Nardin El Toro, it's fitted with a very robust solid 18K rose gold case measuring 43mm in diameter and topped off with a fixed black ceramic 24-hour bezel and a black rubber strap with a deployment buckle. This timepiece has an original MSRP of $66,000 and is striking on the wrist and mesmerizing.
El Toro is the most robust and user-friendly Perpetual Calendar out there that also comes with a sophisticated dual time zone complication. The El Toro is fitted with a stunning black dial with Côtes de Genève, one of the best-known watch movement decorations, consisting of an intricate series of wave-like parallel lines on plates, bridges, and rotors that enhance the performance of the dial.
Still, its striking design and beauty make all elements flow nicely and evenly. The dial features the traditional oversized skeletonized hands with luminescent material on the tips, day and month apertures next to the center pinion, seconds register at 9, year aperture at 6, and big date aperture at 1 o'clock. The black dial is nicely accentuated and balanced by the blued screws and the gold accents.
The fixed 24-hour black ceramic bezel is well finished with golden engraved numbers, a sun icon indicates noon time, and a moon icon indicates midnight. The fixed bezel, along with the dual time zone arrow-shaped hand, is perfect for watchlifestylers wanting to keep track of two time zones simultaneously. The independent dual time zone hand can be advanced or regressed by pressing the black ceramic pushers on the case band. Each of these pushers features a plus or minus sign to facilitate using the independent dual time zone hand. The minus pusher is right below the winding crown at 4 o'clock, and the plus pusher is located at 8 o'clock, right below the plaque where the serial number is engraved.
This watch comes with an outer box, piano black display case, pillow, leather portfolio with a 2014 COSC certificate, watch manual for the perpetual calendar, and customer service/international warranty booklets, all in excellent condition. The watch is in excellent condition and was recently serviced and polished at Ulysse Nardin Authorized Dealer in Boca Raton, Florida.
This luxury timepiece is striking to see in person and offers a subtle wrist presence when briefly glanced at; however, once it's openly in view, you can't help but engage in all the detail the El Toro has to offer.
Thank you for considering the El Toro as your next timepiece. When it arrives, and you open up the massive display case, you know you've just invested in a quality timepiece about the presentation, function, and heritage Ulysse Nardin continues to offer.
