Offered is a 1970 Rolex Submariner Date “Red Sub” (Ref. 1680) featuring the highly desirable Mark 5 red-letter dial. Remarkably, this example has remained all original, retaining its original dial, hands, bezel insert, crystal, bracelet, and end links.
The watch is accompanied by a Rolex box and original red hangtag. Original warranty papers are not included.
The Ref. 1680 was the first Submariner to feature a date complication, with early examples distinguished by the iconic red SUBMARINER text. Finding a Red Sub that has retained this level of originality more than five decades later is increasingly uncommon and adds significantly to the collector appeal of this example.
