Rolex Submariner Date 40MM Black Dial Oyster Bracelet (168000)
The seller represents this timepiece as being in vintage condition. This timepiece was resized and is one link short. According to the seller, it was serviced, and the dial was replaced. This auction pertains exclusively to the watch and an aftermarket rubber strap, as the box and papers are not part of the listing.
Up for sale is a fantastic, highly collectible, and historically significant neo-vintage Rolex Submariner Date, Reference 168000. Known to collectors as the "Triple Zero," this incredibly rare transitional model was only produced for a very brief ~9-month window between 1987 and 1988. It marks the monumental milestone where Rolex quietly introduced upgraded 904L stainless steel to the Submariner line for the very first time.
This particular piece offers the absolute best of both worlds: an ultra-rare vintage mid-case paired with a genuine, brilliant Rolex factory service Luminova dial and hands upgrade. You get the iconic vintage form factor and pierced lug holes but with crisp, highly legible modern daily performance and functionality.
