The 228235 is the Day-Date 40 in 18-carat Everose gold — the reference against which all other dress watches are measured. This example is fitted with the black ombré dial, its gradient deepening from the center outward and carrying applied Roman numeral hour markers in Everose gold for a composition that reads as both architectural and deeply luxurious. The fluted Everose gold bezel frames a 40mm case with sapphire crystal and cyclops lens over the twin day and date displays. The case rests on the President bracelet in 18-carat Everose gold with semi-circular three-piece links and concealed Crownclasp. Powering the watch is the in-house self-winding 3255 — 31 jewels, 28,800 vph (4 Hz), 70-hour power reserve, Chronergy escapement in nickel-phosphorus, Parachrom hairspring — certified to the Superlative Chronometer standard (±2 sec/day). Water resistance 100m.
