Panerai, founded in Florence, Italy, in the 1860s, has produced all its modern watches at a state-of-the-art facility in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, since 2014. The PAM00514 presents a distinctive 47mm stainless steel cushion-shaped case with a flush crown for enhanced durability. The case size of the modern Panerai is a legacy of innovation as a supplier of high-tech precision instruments and timepieces for the Royal Italian Navy since the 1940s. The PAM00514 features a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock and a date display at 3 o'clock and is rated to 100 meters. It is powered by the in-house Calibre P.3000 movement, visible through a sapphire exhibition caseback. The black dial uses a "sandwich" construction: luminous material beneath a stencil cut top layer, a classic Panerai method for enhanced legibility.
