Offered here is a very attractive vintage Omega reference 2272-2, dating to the mid-1940s and powered by Omega’s highly regarded 30T2-family manual-wind movement. This is one of Omega’s larger dress-watch references from the period, measuring approximately 37–38 mm without the crown, giving it a much more modern wrist presence than many 1940s Omegas. The watch features a beautiful salmon/copper-tone dial with full Arabic numerals, outer minute-dot track, subsidiary seconds at 6, applied Omega logo, and blued/darkened period-style hands. The dial shows age and light surface wear consistent with a vintage watch of this era. Dial originality has not been independently certified, so it is being represented conservatively and sold as shown. The movement is Omega signed, 15 jewels, with serial approximately 10.19 million, placing production in the mid-1940s. It appears visually clean and correct for the reference. The case is therefore 20-micron gold plated, not solid gold. There is visible wear to the plating around the bezel and lug edges, along with normal scratches and signs of age. There is also a small period case/maker’s stamp on the lug. The inside caseback contains old watchmaker service markings, adding to the watch’s long service history. Overall, this is a very appealing and highly wearable example of a 1940s Omega Jumbo, with a desirable large case, classic 30T2 architecture, and an especially attractive salmon-tone dial.
