A distinctive and highly recognizable Omega Speedmaster MK40 Triple Date, featuring one of the most colorful and complicated dial designs from the Speedmaster family. The MK40 stands apart from the traditional Moonwatch with its compact proportions and impressive combination of complications. The grey dial features contrasting red, yellow, and blue accents, along with a triple-calendar display showing the day, date, and month. The yellow central pointer indicates the date along the 1–31 outer scale, while the chronograph provides elapsed seconds, minutes, and hours. A 24-hour indication and tachymeter scale complete the exceptionally functional layout. Powered by the automatic Omega Calibre 1151, based on the proven Valjoux 7751 architecture, the MK40 combines a chronograph and full calendar in a remarkably wearable package. This reference has been discontinued and has developed a strong following among Speedmaster collectors. The MK40 design also holds an interesting place in modern Omega history, later serving as the inspiration for the 2018 Omega Speedmaster HODINKEE 10th Anniversary Limited Edition.
