Omega has put its wave dial on the Seamaster for decades, and this reference leaves it off on purpose. The 212.30.41.20.01.003 has a smooth, glossy black dial under a black ceramic bezel, and I think it's the better look. It keeps everything that makes a Seamaster recognizable, like the skeleton sword hands, the red script and the scalloped bezel, but it reads cleaner and more modern without the pattern. On the wrist, the 41mm case sits close to the wrist, the ceramic bezel clicks cleanly with every turn, and in daylight the lacquer shines like black glass. This is the Seamaster for someone who wants the icon with a quieter voice. It's a watch you can wear to the beach in the morning and to dinner that night without a second thought.
