The seller represents this timepiece as being in very good condition, showing light signs of wear. The front flap of the box has detached. This timepiece has been resized and includes the removed links. It includes the boxes (inner and outer), additional items, and papers dated 2024. This timepiece is part of a limited edition series, with only 50 available worldwide.
Girard-Perregaux built the Laureato in 1975. In the fifty years since, it has worn a gold dial exactly once — a single one-off piece for a 1985 exhibition. Once. Then Watches of Switzerland turned 100, and GP made fifty of them. This is that watch. The dial is 18k pink gold, cut with the Clous de Paris pyramid motif the Laureato has carried since day one. Indexes and the GP logo are 18k white gold set against it. Flip it over and the sapphire back shows a pink gold rotor with Côtes de Genève — the same warmth running clean through the movement. Case and integrated bracelet are steel, 42mm, framed by the octagonal bezel that gave the watch its name. Inside is the in-house calibre GP01800 — designed, built, assembled, and regulated by GP — with 54 hours of reserve. Retail is $18,900.
