Yesterday, by phone, I was told by my bank that the transfer was supposed to clear by 6:00 pm (EST) today. I just called and received confirmation that it's already cleared. So I'll instruct Grailzee, who has the watch, to release it to you. Thanks.Anka8z4v0 80
My bank says it cleared….Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
Good. Hopefully tomorrow.Anka8z4v0 80

Yeah. Supposedly takes a dayThke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
I've been told by the branch of the bank I use that their records do not indicate that the wire transfer has been received. I was told by my bank to check back in the morning. Thanks.Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
Oh, and thanks for the purchase.Anka8z4v0 80
Hey. No problem. Wire has been sentThke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
The account I provided to Grailzee can't be accessed through online banking. So, I have get confirmation by calling or stopping by a branch. So, when you're advised by your bank that the funds have been wired, please say so in the comments section and I'll contact my bank. Sorry for being so 20th Century.Anka8z4v0 80
*that, not trustAnka8z4v0 80
Ac fair deal is where everyone walks away wanting a different out comes. This seems to be trust scenario.Anka8z4v0 80
Here if you don’t get what you expect. It’s my grail.Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
Thanks for the frank discussion. I’ll leave w Grailzee for a while before accepting the $20K offer and see if someone else grabs it at that price.Anka8z4v0 80
I understand. Best of luck.Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
Unfortunately, I can’t accept your $18.5K offer with a pending $20K offer. I understand that you’ll have to pay a premium to Grailzee and you want a new strap and have A Lange & Sohne do a tuneup. That still gets you the watch for significantly less than anywhere else. The reseller is offering me $20K because they’ll sell at retail for a profit.Anka8z4v0 80
This is killing me. At $18k, I am adding $1K in Grailzee fees and shipping. Then the watch needs $2500+ tax to service. That puts me at $22K and the watch has no papers or box, making it 20% less valuable than a full set. I’ll go to $18.5k and then walk away. If you can get the $20k from a middleman, so be it. I’ll stop bothering you now.Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
I imagine the reseller will polish the watch, package it with one of their boxes and put it on sale for somewhere near $30,000.Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
There’s a reseller in Chicago who offered $20,000. I was hoping to get at least $25,000. That didn’t work out with this auction. So, my options are to sell it to the reseller or see if someone will match that offer or do better through Grailzee. Match the $20,000 offer and it’s yours. I’ve already invested $600 shipping it to Grailzee and paying for their premium auction service.Anka8z4v0 80
That’s my maxAnka8z4v0 80
If I am willing to sell a Tudor and eat this price by adding $1K to my bid, would you do it?Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
Thank you. I appreciate your interest in the watch.Anka8z4v0 80
I also had to factor in a new strap and polishing, but I’m clearly too far off any way. Appreciate the candor and good luck!Anka8z4v0 80
Ok. Please let me know if anything changes.Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
The reserve was $25,000 and accepted by Grailzee.Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
Basically, what I’m saying is you can’t buy this watch from a reseller for less than $28,000. So $22,500 is a great price.Anka8z4v0 80
And bidding in earnest to buy this piece. I’m not a reseller, so you choose who to sell it to.Anka8z4v0 80
With the fees/shipping I’m well above $16k now.Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
I’ve been offered more than $16,000 by a resellerThke5s7e5 (The Seller)1

I’ve pushed way beyond the winning bid. What gets this done?Thke5s7e5 (The Seller)1
Service: The watch was obtained from the estate of a deceased family member. He had an extensive collection of about 30 watches. I don’t know the service history. Based on the serial number, A Lange & Sohne claims the watch was manufactured in 2002. Strap: A new alligator strap from A. Lange & Sohne is about $500. Other companies sell very nice replacement alligator straps which will fit the watch starting at $150.Anka8z4v0 80
Also, do you have service history? These can be 30 years old.Anka8z4v0 80
Do you happen to know the cost to get it polished and replace the strap by Lange?
