Just to be crystal clear, despite me telling grailzee to amend the quick reference boxes multiple times, the year is 1970, according to the serial number. It is not unknown.

We still have a bit of ground to make up! Give it your best shot guys.

As this is a premium listing and Bennisson took the pics, I don’t have control over what got uploaded. But, when this watch was in my office, I can confirm it was tight as can be, no sag at all. But unfortunately this is a take my word situation.

Still a bit of ground to make up, but we’re somewhat close! Good luck guys.

Half an hour left! We still have some ground to make up. Put in your best bids!

Kind of would defeat the purpose of the reserve and the auction as a whole. For that reason, Grailzee does not allow sellers to share their reserve price.
May 12th, 2024 at 2:19pm
Per the description, there is no documentation included with this watch.

It is real lapis. I’m not sure what you’re seeing with the bracelet and case being well loved. In my world, that usually means beat to hell lol. In that case, it is very much not well loved. With the bracelet holding 60-70% of its integrity, as a vintage dealer I’m going to say that is actually better than most 16014’s of this era. But the pictures are taken in order to represent the watch as best as possible, and to allow you to make your own decision.

We are just over 24 hours left on this one! Who's going to take home this gorgeous piece?

The bracelet is the monotone (all stainless) jubilee. The only piece of gold on this watch is the bezel, in 18k white gold. I am aware of some aftermarket sapphire crystal options that are fairly affordable. Search “sapphire crystal for Rolex 16014” on eBay.

Just over 30m! Still a bit of ground to make up but we’re close!
May 8th, 2024 at 11:31pm
Yes, the sapphires were introduced for the 16234 generation. The original dial is not included.

Hey everyone, we are inside of 5 hours! We still have some ground to make up, good luck everyone!

Under 30 mins everyone! We still have some ground to make up. Good luck!
May 7th, 2024 at 11:58pm
Yes, that pertains to the case. Which is, in fact, made out of stainless steel. The bezel is a separate piece, and it is mentioned in the grey info card.
May 7th, 2024 at 11:55pm
The description only talks about the case, however there is information on the bezel, specifically, in the info card at the beginning of the listing, just below the pics if you’re on mobile. They are technically two separate pieces, bezel and case.

100%, because this is a 16014 and not a 16220, or any of the all stainless variations. This piece also came from a vendor whom I do a lot of business with, and who I know will always disclose if anything isn’t as the original watch came, such as the dial on this piece. But the bezel is white gold. You’ll get extra confirmation of originality if you win when this watch goes to bennisson for verification.

Under 2 hours! Good luck everyone.

We’re just over 8 hours left in this auction! A qui la chance?!
May 6th, 2024 at 10:50pm
I am a dealer so, I am not the original owner. Per the listing, service history is unknown. The dial is aftermarket, meaning it is a custom piece not made or installed by Rolex.

The beauty of Grailzee is that, if the watch doesn't meet reserve, it goes into "negotiation" where people can submit offers. Until then, we will see what the auction brings!

Scroll down, I answered your question right when you asked it.

The "gold-through" clasp only started being phased in in the 200-2001 model year. This is a '99!
April 2nd, 2024 at 1:38am
A reserve is a minimum price. Not an ask. If you don't like it, you are welcome to not purchase this piece.
April 2nd, 2024 at 1:12am
We still have some ground to make up for this to sell (not one or two dollars). Per Grailzee rules I cannot state the reserve in the comments.
April 2nd, 2024 at 12:45am
UNDER 5 MINS!!
April 2nd, 2024 at 12:42am
Yes, a very light one, I had submitted a photo of it close up to Grailzee, not sure why it didn't make it into the final listing. There's a couple pics that should help you get an idea of the extent of the blemish.
April 2nd, 2024 at 12:40am
10 MINUTES! We still have just a bit more ground to make up for this to sell!
April 2nd, 2024 at 12:36am
It gets sent off for authentication either before payment or while payment is in escrow from what I understand. This would be a question for Grailzee staff. I can assure you though, I'm a full time dealer and I would totally kill my entire business if it was fake.

I'd like to draw your attention to the gorgeous purple-blue hue of the sunburst dial. Have a look at the macro shots to get the full effect!

Hey all! I'm very proud to offer this gorgeous vintage Datejust to the community. There's just something about a silver linen dial. Bonus points if you were born in '71! Good luck!
