E. 57.5MM Black Dial Leather Strap (95.2420.5011/21.C723)

The seller represents this timepiece as being in like new condition. It includes the boxes (inner and outer), a COSC certificate, additional items, and papers dated 2014. This timepiece is part of a limited edition series, with only 250 available worldwide.

The case is 57.5mm, in grade 5 titanium The Movement 5011K: • Total diameter of the 5011k movement (not the case) is 50mm & Thickness 10 mm • 134 parts & 19 jewels • Cadence of the balance 18,000 vph • 48-hour power reserve • Chronometer-certified by COSC, certification matches the movement serial number • Breguet antimagnetic balance spring This rare and sought after edition sold out immediately upon its release, at the Basle world watch fair. It attracted the world's most prominent collectors, including Arnold Schwarzenegger. The reason for its exceptional desirability is the legendary 5011K calibre it uses, which is also the reason for the watch's substantial size. The historic 5011K calibre is widely considered to be one of the finest movements ever made, winning numerous chronometry prizes. For the Montre D'Aeronef Type 20, Zenith used the few remaining new old stock movements, finished to an exceptional standard, to bring back to life another piece of important watchmaking history - the Type 20 aviation clock. The Type 20 on-board clock was introduced in the late 1930s and was supplied to the French air forces. The original aesthetics are respected with this Limited Edition, bold luminous numerals and hands against a matte black face. The 57.5mm case, in grade 5 titanium, contrasts mirror polished surfaces against brushed accents. The power indicator at 3 o'clock and small seconds at 9 o'clock. The exceptional movement showcases a variety of finishes including Cotes de Geneve, pearlage and anglage. The movement was also used in Ships chronometers due to its accuracy. I purchased this watch from the original owner, who purchased it in Murcia Spain. I have worn it once since it bought it from the original owner. The strap is original and has slight signs of age with the original rubber inner lining that has deteriorated a little over time (not from being worn but due to the passage of time as rubber does in these watches). The strap can be replaced by Zenith Service however it is still great shape minus the slight deteriorated rubber inner lining. My research of Zenith production records suggests the actual numbered movement in this watch was produced in 1970 or thereabouts. The limited number of 250 NOS aviation 5011k movements were discovered in the Zenith factory storeroom in 2012, & showcased in Basel in this amazing limited edition wristwatch. The movement itself is quite loud, so if its in your bedroom you will hear it clearly at night. It is also highly luminous with Superluminova enhanced hands and numerals in the true aviator style. This watch is truly unique and a watchmakers delight. It is not for the fainthearted, wear it and it will be seen & noticed by watch experts and everybody else.
