We present the Omega Speedmaster 50th Anniversary "Silver Snoopy Award" Ref. No: 310.32.42.50.02.001 is a timepiece with a lot of history, released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the brand receiving the prestigious Silver Snoopy Award from NASA. In 1970, due to the significant role played in the success ensuring the safe return of the Apollo 13 mission to earth after an explosion occurred on board, NASA gave this award to Omega, an honor given to individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to the success of manned spaceflight missions. This commemorative piece is in new condition, with no signs of wear, and part of a complete set: the original box, papers, a magnifying glass and Snoopy pouch, Cards, and Snoopy celebratory Appolo 13 and Omega history booklet.
This Speedmaster "Silver Snoopy Award" features a 42mm stainless steel case with a blue ceramic bezel insert with a white enamel tachymeter scale. The silver dial displays three blue subdials at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock also featuring a small seconds silver Snoopy medallion at the 9 o'clock position, a cartoon image of Snoopy, the beloved character from the "Peanuts" comic strip, wearing a spacesuit and a 50th Anniversary display. The blue hour markers and hands complement the design. And the back of the watch features a depiction of Snoopy orbiting the moon, wearing a spacesuit, and carrying a silver embossed replica of the Snoopy Award pin that activates with the chronograph movement.
The timepiece is furnished with a blue nylon strap that comes with a steel pin buckle branded with the Omega logo. This not only adds a touch of sophistication to the overall design but also ensures a secure and comfortable fit for the wearer.
Featuring a manual-winding chronograph, the Omega caliber 3861 movement boasts a Co-Axial escapement and Master Chronometer certification, providing a power reserve of up to 50 hours. Additionally, this timepiece is water resistant up to 50 meters, making it the perfect combination of style and functionality.
